Don’t Delay Trademarking Your Brand
The Singapore Trademark Registry (IPOS), reviews trademark applications in order they are filed. If two trademark applications for similar marks are filed by two different companies, the earlier-filed trademark application will be examined first and eventually be granted registration while the later filed application will be denied registration.
On the flip side, take note that if a competitor, or even an opportunist, were to apply for a similar mark even just a few days before your filing date, you would face the cost and burden of having to oppose their trademark application and get your trademark registered.
For the reasons above, it is important to file your trademark as early as possible. There is no right time to file your trademark – File it as Early as Possible
